波爾茲曼方程式可用於確定物理量是如何變化的,例如流體在輸運過程中的熱能和動量;還可由此推導出其他的流體特徵性質,例如黏度,熱導率,以及電阻率(將材料中的載流子視為氣體)[2],詳見對流擴散方程式。
